Outlook won't run after reinstall

I reinstalled Office 2003 Pro and now Outlook won't run because of a
corrupt/wrong version MAPI32.DLL file. I attempted to run FIXMAPI.EXE file
after renaming the mapi32.dll file, but it would not run. No error msg -
just nothing happened when I double-clicked on it. What do I do now?

Thanks

i think you can rename mapi32.dll to something like mapi32.dll.bak and try
again. outlook should replace it if it isn't there when it starts up.

There are more than 1 mapi32.dll file along with several msmapi32.dll files.
I only renamed the mapi32.dll files. What are the msmapi32.dll files? I
renamed the mapi32.dll files (both of them) and tried to use fixmapi.exe.
Still nothing. I doubleclick on the fixmapi file in the seach results and
nothing happens - no error message - just nothing. I reinstalled Outlook
2003 twice. It still gives the same error message so I installed my old
Outlook 2002 and tried to import my Outlook 2003 /pst file but that wouldn't
work either. On the old Windows install before it went bad, I had the MSO
2007 Beta install. Would that make a difference? I have deleted the old
Windows folder. Now I have no email. I don't know why. Help!

Thanks

I did the fixmapi.exe thing and nothing seemed to happen. Then I
renamed the msmapi32.dll to msmapi32.dll.bak file in C:\Program
Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\ folder.
I then opened Outlook 2003 and it seems to be working now (so far).
