Outlook won't stay open

Hi. I used Outlook earlier today without problems. Tonight, when using it
again, it shuts down as soon as emails are downloaded. No error messages are
given. I did a google search and saw where someone suggested running
scanpst.exe, but when I click on outlook to find the files I want scanned,
there are several that are not obvious, and I don't know which to pick. If
someone could help me out, or give another suggestion on what to do to fix
the problem, I'd be grateful. I did try to restore my computer to yesterday,
but that didn't fix it.

Thanks!
Kym

I forgot to add what the event log stated for that particular time:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1004
Date: 1/28/2007
Time: 12:18:07 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: YOUR-4DACD0EA75
Description:
Detection of product '{00020409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature
'OfficeUserData', component '{C9AF9050-C8BE-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}' failed.
The resource
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\UserData' does not
exist.

However, I just tried opening it again, and this time nothing was stated in
the event log. :(

Thanks!
Kym

In Control Panel-> Mail you can see what pst-files you have linked to
Outlook and their locations on your harddisk. You can choose to scan them
all just make sure you always make a backup.

What is your exact Outlook version? Use Help-> About to find out.
