Outlook word attachments default to thumbnail view. Change?

When opening an attachment in Outlook 2003 with an *.rtf extension word 2003
is opened and the document displays in thumbnail view. How can I get the
default to be normal rather than thumbnail?

If I save the document from Outlook to my desktop it will open in normal view.
