Outlook & Word attachments

Hi

Say, a message has a Word attachment. I double-click on the attachment, and
Word opens it. Now, in Word, I click File | Save As, and the hourglass
comes out and never doesn't go away. I had to close the message that forces
Windows to bring up the End Now screen. The attachment is not big - just a
typical 2-page document. This problem happens to any email with Word
attachment.

I can avoid this problem if I open the message, right-click on the
attachment, and select Save As.

I have done all the Office updates. So, I'm not sure where the problem may
be.

Please let me know if any of you have come across similar problem.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks a million. You're the best.

KB918165 has resolution to our specific problem (ie. caused by HP
Share-To-Web and Verclsid.exe). The problem is fixed after editing the
registry according to the article.

Thanks again
Steve

it's probably an update, especially if it just started.
