I am running Outlook 2003 & Word 2003 with Office SP2.

Word is not my email editor (nor do I want it to be).

Working in Word 2003, when I use ‘File, Send to Mail Recipient as Attachment’
I get an error message saying ‘The operation failed due to network or other
communication problems. Check your connection & try again’

If I choose to ‘Sent to Mail Recipient’ but not as an attachment then I get
an error message saying ‘no such interface supported’.

I previously had Outlook 2000 installed and could not use Send To from that.
Sorry, can’t remember the exact error but something to do with MAPI. I
uninstalled Outlook 2000 and installed Outlook 2003 hoping this would resolve
the problem. Unfortunately not. So, I don’t believe this is a Word/Outlook
problem but something underlying.

I have searched the internet for answers and although I can find posts about
these error messages they do not provide the answers. They mostly seem to be
to do with Word being the email editor.

Can anyone help, please?

Problem solved.

1.Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Open box, and
then click OK:

Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll

2. In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.

The actual knowledge base article with the answer in is
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;870707.
However, it relates to a completely different problem and different version
of Outlook. It worked though.
