Outlook/Word Problems

Using Windows XP Pro with Office 2002 on a Windows 2000
domain with Exchange 2000. Problem is when a particular
user has Word open and then creates a new email (which
uses Word as it's email editor), when she sends the
email, Word closes. Is there a way to stop Word from
closing?
