Outlook works at PC boot then stops sending/receiving

Hello

A friend's PC has developed a problem with Outlook 2003 running on an XP Pro
installation.
On first booting the machine Outlook will open and send/receive e-mails.
After a short length of time it refuses to do either although access to all
Outlook's other functions are OK. Restarting Outlook makes no difference.
The broadband connection is working OK apart from one thing, IE7 won't
connect to websites although Firefox and BT's Yahoo browser will. I don't
know if this problem is linked to the Outlook one - probably IE7 just needs
resetting to default.

Other than the above the PC is functioning perfectly.

Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Thank you

Conrad
