Outlook (XP/2002+maybe 2003) defaulted UK dictionary reverts 2 US

I have just upgraded to Outlook 2003 (waiting to check performance/bugs) but
in 2002/XP if you changed default language to UK (from US) for spell-check
purposes - it constantly reverts to US! - Really annoying. Not sure yet if
2003 does it - can anyone give a clue as to why and any cure?

CanyonChris posted the same problem.

The problem seems to be that switching to UK or Australian does not remove
the (wrong) US spelling, only adds the UK/Australian spelling.
