Outlook XP / 2002: View DL name as dropdown from within contacts

I am trying to update the contact's membership to various DLs
(distribution lists) from within the Contacts view and am unable to do
so.

Can anybody help me with a macro or custom view for the same?

I have three different Contact Categories and three DLs. I wish to
modify my contacts membership to any of the DLs.

I tried creating various views which would display the DL name for
each contact but to no avail. :-(

Please assist or guide me.

This isn't a job for a view. You'd have to create a custom field in the contact to hold the DL information and also either a custom DL form with code behind it or some VBA code to monitor changes in DLs and put the data into the Outlook item. Rather a lot of work.
