Outlook XP: automatic journal set by contact category

Is there a way to set automatic journalling based on a contact being in a
specific category? The UI in Options->Journal is quite painful if you have a
large contact database. No search/sort capabilities, etc.

If I do an Advanced Find on contacts, there is a flag showing if the contact
is journaled, but there is no way to click on the flag and set it.

Help?
