Help,
I've just started using this product on my home
computer and I use a dial-up connection.
I'm trying to get Outlook to dial the connection when
I press the send/receive icon on Outlook's menu bar.
When I do, I get an error, telling me that outlook can't
find the connection,
So, I go to Options, Mail Setup tab, email accounts,
View or change existing email accounts, select the
POP/SMTP account I'm using, select change, select the
more settings button, select the connection tab, select
the "connect using my phone line" radio button, then
close all the windows by pressing their respective next,
or OK, or close buttons.
Then I press the send/receive icon once again and
Outlook then dials my connection, as expected.
The problem is that when I close Outlook and shut down,
Outlook apparently doesn't remember my changes. It
appears to default back to "connect using my local area
network (LAN)".
I do have a home network, but each computer is
connected separately to a phone line and operates
independently of each other.
What am I doing wrong?
