OUTLOOK XP Error

D

Dan

I'm getting an error apon opening Outlook XP and I have
to click on it several times to get the box off my
screan. This just started happening and I've reinstalled
the operating system, MS Office & Outlook itself. The
following is the mesage.

Cicero UIWnd Frame: outlook.exe- entry point could not
be found.

The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in
the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL

Any ideas?

Dan:

Can't tell you exactly what is causing this error, but here's a few things
to try:

1.) MSDart.dll is a component of the Microsoft Data Access Component Library
(MDAC). You can start by downloading the latest version of MDAC (2.8)
from the MS web at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en

Try reinstalling MDAC on your OS (a reinstall of the os itself wouldn't
necessarily have updated these libraries.)

2.) If #1 doesn't do the trick, then: The Cicero technology is related to
advanced language support services. While this is not directly related, you
might look at the following KB article

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822656

Which discusses how to turn that off (not recommended) for all applications.

Hope this helps
