I have a user with Windows XP laptop, using Office XP. He has had a problem
in recent weeks where his Outlook will hang if he tries to move a message to
a folder. This always requires termination using the task manager. Here are
the steps taken so far:
- checked .PST size, and found that it was near the limit (although it was
still sending and receiving mail). To address this, all folders have been
archived, and the remaining file compacted - now far below the size limit
- ran "detect and repair" - no change
- did a full removal/ reinstallation of the Office software - no change
I did notice that when Outlook hangs, task manager shows that the process is
using a disproportionately large amount of system resources.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
