Get Outlook XP to check for new mail when it is started...

I'm running a single user version on ADSL

Many thanks

Go to Tools > Options > Mail Setup > check box "Send Immediately" also you
may want to check the Send/Receive (same page) settings so that you are
polling at set intervals

Settings are already as you suggest (along with the polling at set
intervals)

Outlook still will NOT check for new mail when started...

Any other suggestions?

Is the ADSL an always on connection, if so have you set the connection type
to LAN in the Properties of the email account

Yup... ADSL is always on

Yup... Connection type is set to LAN

Nope... Outlook will still not check for new mail on start up... I'm sure
there used to be an option in earlier versions that said simply... "Check
for new mail on startup"

Any other ideas... There must be something I've missed but I can't think
what

I seem to have got it working...

Tools > options > mail settings > send receive

I unmarked the checkbox "When Outlook Is Offline - include this group in
send/receive"

Happy now and thanks for your help

Regards
