Outlook XP not opening archived Outlook 2000 pst file

I

Inder Singh

Hi,

I saved my Outlook archives in a .pst file before dumping
my old laptop and now have Outlook from Office XP on my
new computer.

When I try to OPEN my old file from a CDROM or from a copy
on the hard drive, I get an error saying I'm not
authorized to open the file. It's my OWN file and I have
any/all passwords that might pertain to it but can't get a
clue as to why it's a) not permitting me access to it, and
b) not giving a password dialogue box if that's what it
wants.

Please help!!!

Inder

Your PST is read-only. Right-click the PST and
choose "Properties". Remove the "Read Only" checkbox.
Make sure the PST is on a hard drive rather than on read-
only media.

Contacts usually are not archived. Did you actually set up archiving on your Contacts folder?
