Outlook XP send and receive problem

Hi all,

I have Outlook XP on a Windows XP machine. When I click send/receive it
will not close, the tasks just keep on increasing. It starts at 1 of 4 and
the last time was up to 36 out of 58. I have checked all settings, and all
seems to be fine. My network connection is fine too. Server timeouts are
set for long (10 minutes). Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks,

If you start Outlook in safe mode does the problem still occur?
Start>Run>outlook.exe /safe . Be sure to include the space after
"outlook.exe".
