Outlook XP SP3 - 2GB limit (.pst) - Error 0x8004060C

Hi

I get the Error 0x8004060C
I found this on the support pages :http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;30486
Which says: "To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP"

SP3 (Norwegian) was already installed for Microsoft Office XP

Therefore I am now stuck. Is this something that was fixed in an earlier SP and coudl it be that this error/feature came back with the SP3 release

I have tried to uninstalled Office XP, and reinstalled it, but it seems like I am stuck with SP3 even though I use the orginal media (CD) which has no SPs ? Tried to delete the office references in the registry, and also the WUTemp and Shared Files for Office. Still get's installed as SP3; "About Outlook" says Microsoft Outlook 2002 SP

Hoping for a workaround, fix, information or something that can help me. Unless I'll have to try to reinstall Windows XP Pro and then install Office (Which should be without any updates at that point). And then import the 1,99GB .pst file

2GB is the absolute limit for Outlook 97-2002 pst-files. You'll need to
truncate it before you can use it again. For that you can use this tool;

Don't use this pst-file anymore to store data in as it is full! Either clean
it up by deleting messages or start with a new one.

So this means that the info in the knowledgebase I added url for in the previous post is wrong?

I don't use Exchange, just ordinary POP3 account from an *nix server (our ISP).
The tool can still be used I guess (?)

Please acknowledge (and update the Knowledgebase information).

You can use it especially when not using an Exchange server as it is for
pst-files (which isn't used with an Exchange account). The Exchange server
comes into the picture when you are using ost-files to create an off-line
copy of the mailbox.

The KB info is not wrong; it doesn't apply to your situation. This article
just states that you get an error without an explanation when the pst-file
becomes full during Send/Recieve and that they've added an explanation to
the error with the Service Pack.
