does the our-of-office autoreply in outlook work for
external recipeints? I know internal users are able to
receive it, but what about external recipients? I just
wanted to verify

Exchange, by default, is set to deny replies and forwards to the Internet.
If you want this changed, be prepared with some very compelling arguments as
this setting is one of the good default settings.
