Outlook2000 won't import CSV contacts

Greg

I created a CSV backup of my contacts using Outlook2000.
I had a HD crash and have a clean install on Win2000 and Office2000.
When I attempt to restore my contacts from the CSV file using
Outlook's import feature, I get an error csv translator while
initializing translator build field map

A file error has occurred in the Comma Seperated Values (Windows)
translator while initializing a translator to build a field map.

I have installed the converters from the Office2000 CD (as I was
prompted to install these when I started the import).

I have opened the files and the structure appears to be intact.
I can export (currently I have 2 contacts in Outlook2000) my 2
contacts to a CSV and can re-import them, but the 200? contacts I had
backed up are inaccessible to me.

The file opens fine in Excel, and I've even tried saving it as an
excel file and importing that way, but at that point I get an "An
error has occured in the microsoft excel translator while getting the
contents of a file system. I get the same error using my 2 contacts
csv and saving that as an excel file.

I've also tried cutting down the CSV file to a few lines to
drastically reduce the odds that there is a data problem which is
causing this.

Thanks.

Open up the 2 files you have (the one you just created with only 2 contacts
nad your exported .csv file) and compare the 2 to ensure that they have the
same fields.
