Outlook2002/Word2002 Fonts/style not changing

I have Word2002 as my email editor with HTML. The
default font in normal is Ariel 10. When I change the
normal style to 11 it shows as being accepted, but when I
start a new document it comes up 10. If I reveal style
is shows the system as 11.

Any thoughts
