Outlook2003 cannot read my Exchange Server Mailbox

Hello,
Could someone please help? I had Outlook2002 running normally against my company's Exchange Server over a VPN. With 2002 I could connect via LAN or Dial-Up, however when I installed Office 2003 and opened Outlook for the first time I got an error message to the effect that the default store could not be opened and that the server must be down. I can set up and run Office 2000 or 2002 on any PC inside or ouside my servers Domain.

Outlook2003 prompts for the Domain\userID and password, recognizes them but only allows me to open the offline personal folder file whith the "Welcome to Outlook2003" message. Clicking on the "Mailbox, User Name" folder generates the message that the folder could not be opened. Performing a "Send/Receive" also causes "server down" error messages. I've tried every combination of offline folder/cached folder enabling and disabling without sucess. I am behind a Linsys Firewall but this has no effect with any machine running the other versions. I have verified the path of the .ost and .pst file location.
This is a typical message:

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using is:
Unavailable
Protected with file permissions
On a share on a server and the network is down
Corrupt
To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local computer.
You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify file integrity.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers,
