Outlook2003 not running

B

Hello, I have a fairly weird problem and it is
inconsistent. When I double click to run MS Outlook
2003, it would display Outlook for about 1 second and
then it would disappear. The Outlook icon appears on the
TaskBar but when I move my mouse over it, it disappears.
I have not seen these before until I recently updated it
with the latest SP. If I click clicking on it, it will
eventually come up and stay up. There has been times
where I have to reboot my machine.

I have Windows XP OS. Can someone help with this? Any
suggestions? I appreciate any help or advise anyone can
provide.

Office 2003 and hence, Outlook 2003, have not had any Service Packs. Are
you running mixed versions? Office 2000 or XP with Outlook 2003 from Office
2003?

Have you tried running detect and repair from within any like version (2003)
of any office program or from Control Panel? Have you tried a new mail
profile (Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles?)

I am running Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5703). I am not
running a mixed version. The updates that were not were
not SPs as you mention. Sorry for the confusion. The
updates were the email filter update.

I have not tried running detect and repair from within
any version. I did not know you can do that. I will try
that first. If that does not work, I will try a new mail
profile. Thank you and will keep you posted.

Well,

I have tried detect and repair. That did not work. I
have also tried creating a new profile and also creating
a new PST file. That does not seem to work either. Any
other suggestions? I have microsoft ActiveSync
installed, .NET Framework, and VS. This was working fine
before. Any other suggestions?

Is your PPC docked when this happens? How many instances of outlook.exe do
you show running in Task Manager? Are you using the latest version of
ActiveSync (3.7.1 I believe)?
