outlook2003 with business contact manager

how do i upgrade from my current version outlook 2003 to the outlook 2003
with business contact manager version.

You must remove the any other version of Office/Outlook then install Office
Small Business Edition 2003 or Office Professional 2003 to obtain Outlook
2003 with Business Contact Manager. Currently, the Business Contact Manager
functionality does not work with Pocket PC. Outlook 2003 with Business
Contact Manager is not available as a stand-alone product.

I need to uninstal my current version of microsoft outlook 2003 professional
then instal a version with business contact manager. How can I transfer my
calendar/contacts/task and notes to the new version.

Currently I am using a Pocket PC . Does it mean I will not be able to sync
my desktop and pocket pc after switching to outlook with business contacr
manager.

Pls advise. Thks.

Check on the Office Pro box, if you still have it, it might say that BCM
comes with it. There were mis-prints on the some packaging and that the
offer may have been mis-represented
If it does, contact 1.800.360.7561 and explain to them the situation, they
might send a CD. Otherwise, you will need to remove one Office Suite to
install the other Office Suite.

You can backup the data, by using the BCM backup utlility and the
outlook PST file\contacts via the import\export wizard. This way you can
import all this information back after re-installation.

Any sync that was done with Outlook before can still be done, just not with
BCM. The good news is with the new BCM update, that comes out sometime in
the fall, you should be able to sync with a Pocket PC.

Thks for your response I hv enquired with my vendor and had the BCM add-in
installed yesterday. The vendor overlook the BCM when they preinstal my pc.
Meanwhile, I'm learning to use it.

I hv also identified 2 problems with the software. First, while I sync the
pocket pc with my pc and open the outlook I notice that the 'business tools'
on the menu bar missing. It seems to reappear after I close the outlook,
remove my pocket pc from the cradle and reopen outlook. 2nd is after moving
my contact to the bcm list it no longer appear in the contact list. [kind off
disappear from my pocket pc !!]

Good to know an update is coming out soon. Hope it settles the problems
above. How do i get the update anyway ?

Yes that is a bug.

Found a way to solve the 2nd problem, after dragging a contact to business
contacts list it disappears from the contact list, but you can drag it again
from the business contacts list back to the contact list. Now you can hv a
contact in both the contact and bcm list.
