outlook2k strange problem

accidently hit power off while outlook2k was down loading email
when powered up again, outlook wouldn't load, just kept acquiring memory
until i got system message about being out of virtual memory.
so i uninstalled and reinstalled, however still have same problem.
once it failed with an error that it couldn't find outlrpc.dll, but in fact
it was there, and after a reinstall got past that problem
i have outlook express working ok and it even was able to import contacts
from
outlook, even though outllook doesnt' really load
any ideas what is wrong and how to fix from here, is there a more 'complete'
uninstall than the standard add/remove programs?

1) try running scanpst.exe on your Personal Folder

2) try renaming outcmd.dat to .old and restart Outlook. All the Toolbars
will reset then. This is quite a common probem with Outlook . The default
location for this file is C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\APPLICATION
DATA\Microsoft\Outlook

3) try recreating the profile in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

4) try running Outlook with the /save swith from your Run window. When this
works run Help-> Detect and Repair
