Outlook6 won't import Outlook6 files

I bought a new computer and installed Outlook XP on it.
I started Outlook and tried to import Account, Addresses
and Messages from the previous computer which used
Outlook 2000 (ver 6). When I went to import the items,
it gave me a list of what it would import and lo, Outlook
v6 was NOT an option, only Outlook v4 or v5.

So all of my 'old' e-mail messaages sit on a hard drive
waiting to be imported IF I can get version6 to import
version6 messages. Any suggestions are appreciated and
any expert advise would be even better!! Please help.
