Outlooks 2003 E-Mail Notification

Hi,
I have my outlook configured to download only the header files
of each e-mail, so I can scan for spam and virus'. Doing so, I don't
get a notification when a new e-mail comes in, because I think it
isn't really delivered yet, it hasn't been fully downloaded. Is there
a way to keep my current setup, but get notification of new header
arrivals.
