Outloook Error Message: "Unable to expand folder"

In the Folder List view of Outllok 2000, I am no longer
able to see any folders below "Outlook Today -[personal
folder].

Needless to say, this is vexing.

I have about 20 folders that i can no longer access
becuase i can't expand the folder view below the top level
Outlook Today...

I am anxious about not being able to regain access to
about 10 sub-folders (of "Inbox" specifically) that i know
the contents of are still accessible since i find items in
a search for messages i know are stored in these sub-
folders.

Any ideas or help about how to convince Outlook to find
all my sub-folders would be greatly appreciated.
