Output Backspike Date

N

Neil Perry

Is it possible to calculate / output the date or length that a progress line
is backspiking / slipping by?

I can visually see it, but is there somewhere the actual date or number of
weeks behind is availble?

I would like to be able to copy that information into excel somehow.

Thanks
Neil

Hi Neil,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I'm a firm believer that project management during the progressing stage is
mightly concerned with the future not the past. Forget the progress lines
gimmick in favour of Tools/Tracking/ Update Project... and select to
rechedule uncompleted work to start after the status date. Then concentrate
on the critical path to recover a late ending. You can use the Tracking
Gantt view to see which tasks are now late.

Thanks.)

Hi Niel,

If your project is baselined, you can insert the column "Finish Varience".
It compares the baseline finish with the Finish dates. A negative number is
a projected early finish of the task, and a positive number is a projected
late finish of the task , and by how much.
