Outside customer viewing a project for status through email

Iam trying to find out all my options for setting up a way for customers to view there project as it is being done with like weekly updates. Can this be done by taking some type of snap shot and then emailing or would they need access to a server where they could view it, or is it best to send them reports generated through excel or word? I am currently using a trial version of project 03 and giving the customer updates weekly would be a great help in our customer service aspect of the business
