Outsourced Exchange Server

We utilize an outsourced exchange server, it requires a seperate domain login
that is not trusted by our internal domain. My assumption is that as the
project related email is based on SMTP there will not be any issues, as the
links issued by the Project Administrator will have the internal project
server urls attached.

I just want to find out if there are any gotchas in using this configuration

Off the top of my head I dont think Project can do authenticated SMTP
relay. Someone can confirm this.

If thats the case you need to think about how you are going to relay
emails to the exchange environment. I'd presume the hosted exchange
environment wouldnt allow unauthenicated relay.The links themselves
shouldnt be problem tho.

Bob:

Project Server doesn't send authentication requests, it simply spits out a
data stream of email once connected. You need to work with your hosting
partner to work this out.
