Overallocation Showing on a half-day basis

Hi, I have a resource showing as overalloacted. When you drill down into
where and by how much I find that he is overallcoated by an 1hr in the
morning but over the whole day he is not ie Project is looking for
overallocation granularity down to half-days...how do i stop this from
happening?

Tools/Level Resources and select the "Look for overallocations on a
Week-by-Week or Day-by-Day" basis.

Ah, that is one of the confusing things about Project. It will show in
red. However, what you lose is the little yellow diamond symbol that
shows it is overallocated with respect to your granularity settings.

Dave.

Microsoft Project schedules down to the minute, so if 2 tasks requiring the
same person to be allocated 100% overlap by just 1 minute the resource will
show in RED.

I tend to favour adding the fields "Remaining Availability" and
"Overallocation" to a copy of the Resource Usage view and then viewing on a
week by week basis with Resource Leveling set to Manual and Week by Week. I
also don't tend to get too stressed by Resources showing in RED. If you see
a resource showing RED with work and remaining availabiltiy likelihood is
there is a minimal overlapping of tasks. If you drill down to show a day by
day view and the resource still shows RED the overlap is within the day, you
can drill down to the point where you identify the overlap but it is
probably going to take more time in analysis than the situation demands.
