Overdue Task Notifications Link to Resource Assignments Page??? W

We have a few managers that are Team Members and Resource Managers. When
tasks are assigned to these managers are added or modified, they get a
notification that provides them with a link to the Tasks Page. However, when
a one of their tasks is overdue they are getting a notification with a link
to Resource Assignments. Why?

I know this should not be a problem, all they have to do is click on Tasks
from the menu, but I keep hearing about this issue on a regular basis and
need to know why this is happening and if it is possible to always have
notifications link to a user's tasks and not the resource page when the
subject of the notification is the user's new/modified/overdue tasks.
