overlapping letters

I have been using word 2007 for over a year. Today, for no apparent reason,
all of my documents became largely illegible. It looked as if the letters
were piled up on top of each other rather than lined up 1-by-1. Portions of
documents, especially auto-text headings, were unaffected. Every doc I opened
had this problem. I closed Word. After I reopened it, the overlapping was
gone.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know what happened?

It's usually a problem with Word not being able to see the printer driver
correctly. Make sure that your printer driver is the latest and then delete
and reinstall the printer.

Also make sure that Word and the OS are fully up to date too.
