overlapping text caused by "print in background" checked

In Word 2007, occasionally when I try to print (to a printer or to PDF), the
letters on the page will all scrunch up on top of each other, like if you
were typing on a typewriter and never moved the paper.

Solution: I unchecked "Print in background" in Word Options, closed Word,
and found things corrected when I reopened the document. I was just
wondering if there was an official KB article, or some other kind of
explanation from Microsoft. Also, does this mean that I can't have printing
in the background turned on if I want to completely avoid this problem in the
future, or is there a more complete solution?

This is usually caused by deficiencies in the printer driver. Check the
printer driver manufacturer's website for an updated version.
