oversized pst file..

Hi

running outlook 2000, my pst file is just over 2GB in size (... i know,
I know ..fool me !!! for letting it get to this size..!!)

Problem now is I CAN open outlook ..but can not do anything ..it locks
up !


(..have made backup copy of pst )
1. Have run scanpst.exe ... no luck..did not help !
2. have gone to pst file and tried to compress it ... no luck !
3 have been in outlook tried to archive .... program locks
4. have tried to delete 'delete item' on close ... program locks

trying to do anything in outlook and it locks !

Can I fix this situation .....? possibly by accessing a pst in some
other way and deleting some data to reduce the size ???

Any help would be really greatful to solve this problem

Hi R,

try the program pst19upg with a copy of your PST file:
http://www.computerhope.com/download/updates.htm

You will lost some datas, but better then to lost the complete PST file. Try
it with a copy of your PST.
