Oversized PST

In spite of archiving 700 MB of my .pst files last week,
outlook has shut down due to an oversized .pst (1.96GB)

I have used the 2 GB truncation tool three times, 25MB,
105MB and 500MB, all three re-saved .pst files have
failed to complete the Inbox Repair Tool process, it
always ends with the error during phase 7;

"An error has occurred which caused the scan to be
stopped. No changes have been made to the scanned file."

Any Suggestions to retrieve my .pst files?

Try alternating scandisk.exe with scanpst.exe 3-4 times.
