OVR and HELP

I have Word 2002. I work at home and have to insert info
into forms. I have turned off OVR but sometimes when I
type a work into a form, OVR comes on and deletes text.
How can I permanently turn OVR off?

Secondly, when I use HELP and the HELP screen is on the
right of my document, it disappears when I go back to my
document. It used to stay there so I could read the
instructions as I followed them. What happened? How can
I get it to stay?

Hi, Wanda,

The OVR indicator is toggled by the Insert key (also by double-clicking the
indicator itself). If you have a tendency to hit the Insert key by mistake,
there are two things you can do:

(1) In Tools > Options > Edit, check the box for "Use the INS key for
paste". This will change the function of the key so that instead of toggling
overtype, it pastes the clipboard contents. In my opinion, this is just as
bad as unintentional overtyping.

(2) Open the Tools > Customize dialog and click the Keyboard button. In the
Categories list, scroll down and select All Commands. In the Commands list,
scroll down and select Overtype. In the Current Keys box, select Insert.
Click the Remove button, the close both dialogs. When you exit Word, let it
save Normal.dot. Now the Insert key will do nothing at all. (You can still
double-click in the status bar to turn on OVR if you need to.)

When you have the Help box open, click the leftmost icon on its toolbar (the
popup tooltip says Auto Tile). That will tile the main window and the help
window side by side. Clicking the icon again will undo the tiling.

Hi

For your second question, when you open help, there are a number of icons at
the top of the help page.

On my system , the first one on the left is 'mosaique' and this anchors my
help page.
