OWA attachments from Office 2007 incorrectly ID'ed as zip files

I'm on XP. I have Office 2007. Using OWA (have to to access college email
form off campus), one sender in particular is sending Word and Excel files in
2007 format, .docx & .xlsx. When I click on them to open/save, the file is
misidentified as a .zip file. I can save and open by changing the file
extension back to the correct extension but this is laborous. Looking for
some advice to fully correct this problem.

OWA has no relationship to Office 2007. It is a function of Exchange. Ask
OWA questions in microsoft.public.exchange.clients
