OWC 10 Export to excel - Unable to open exported file using Excel

I use OWC 10 in a web page and exported it to excel using OWC method
"Export". The file is saved on the computer but when I open the file using
Excel 2007, it says:

The file you are trying to open, ‘XXX.xls’ is in a different format than
specified by the file extension

Can we suppress this?

BTW - If i use Ctrl + E in OWC grid, it opens fine in Excel 2007. Similary if
I export it without any file name ( Just document.all.owc10grid.export), it
opens without any issues. But it occurs only when we specify a file name and
an extension ( .xls )
