OWC 11 - How to print a HTML page with a Pivot Table?

L

Lucas

Hi,
I have a Pivot Table into a HTML page. When the large of the pivot table
exceeds one printed page, it is not split in more than one page. Just one
page is printed (or previewed) without give me the opportunity to print the
rest of the Pivot Table.
I saw the OWC XP Tool Pack example, but it uses a PivotPrint.Helper (I think
a component that is not installed on all OWC machines).
Is there any way to solve this with OWC 11 (2003)?

Thanks

Lucas

Hi Lucas,

Very good question!

So far as I know on this issue, you can use the printer helper directly
which is very easy for you in OWC11. All the codes from the pivottable
print sample of OfficeXP web component tool pack can be reused.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions. I am
standing by to be of assistance.

Does printer helper is available in a Standard installation of OWC11? I need
to register it separately on each client computer?
I'm using OWC 11 from HTML pages, so make a deployment of Printer Helper is
not an option for me, is there any solution?
Does OWC 11 have any Built in support for printing?

Thanks

Lucas

Hi Lucas,

Thank you for replying!

The OWC itself does not support any print functionality -- it leaves print
support up to the host.

If the PivotTable component is hosted in IE, then perhaps one option might
be for you to use get the HTMLData out of the PivotTable and show that HTML
in a new IE window and use IE's Print functionality to print the
PivotTable. This could be done without the need to distribute any
additional components to the clients.

For the deployment of office web component, the kb article will provide
some assistance for you.

So, there is no easy way to allow OWC 11 Pivot Table to print itself or to
allow it to be printed by IE splitting more than one page?

Thanks

Hi Lucas,

If you want to print the page without IE printing, you will need to use
ActiveX control or HTC/HTA to provide one customized print preview for the
page users. However, they all need the extra development and test which is
not very easy.

For the reference of HTC/HTA, please go to:
