OWC 11 - Plotting Totals with Chart

L

Lucas

Hi,
I'm using OWC 11 (Pivot Table + Chart) linked together and connected to an
OLAP repository. I'd like to know if it is possible to make chart plot the
general total.
Suppose a bar chart, I'd like Chart to plot the series of the PT plus the
total (as another bar). Is it possible?

Thanks

Lucas

Hi Lucas,

Thank you for posting in MSDN managed newsgroup!

So far as I know, if you set the data source of the chart component to one pivottable, chart component will not display the grand total. Only the
series of the PivotTable will be displayed.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Lucas,

Furthermore, if you want to plot the grand total filed, you will not specify the pivottable component as the data source of the chart. You will need to
write code to retrieve the data from pivottable and then set them in the chart component.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

No this is not possible. The grand total is not
considered as a regular aggregate. When Chart is bound
to a Pivotlist control, chart will only plot the
aggregates.
