I have just installed SP2 for XP Pro, and all of a sudden, my data
access pages that use OWC have slowed to a crawl. The pages themselves
have not changed at all.
The bottle-neck seems to be a bound drop down list, which retrieves
about 10000 records. Previously, it took maybe 5 seconds to fully
populate the drop down list, now that has become over one minute, with
Internet Explorer gobbling up 100% of CPU cycles.
It does not matter how complex or simple the query that acts as the
data source is - it seems to be only sensitive to the number of
records received.
Oddly, other controls do not seem to have been so significantly
affected.
I have followed all of the directions I can find about relaxing
security measures which can harm OWC / DAPs.
Has anyone noticed this? Any ideas what might be causing it? Any
fixes? Any solutions? HEELLLPPP!!
Thanks,
Nick Tompson
