OWC not working in VISTA IE7 version - 7.0.5456.5

praveen

Hi All,

We have a OWC11 component working fine in win XP IE7 Version -
7.0.5112.0 beta1

But if we tried to run in VISTA IE7 version - 7.0.5456.5 ,the control
is not getting rendered.

Can anyone have a solution to it?Please reply.

Thanks in advance,

There's no solution, OWC is being depricated point forward.

Alvin,

This is kinda new to hear for me. Is there any new product in Office
2007 that is supposed to replace OWC?

Thanks,
Chuck

Yes, matter of fact Excel services will provide similar functionality. I
hesitate to say replace since Microsoft insists that it is not a replacement
for the OWC.

I have a feature article describing Exel services for Aspnet pro magazine
coming soon so you can look out for that to get the scoop.

Alvin:
I have tested Exel Services and the current beta it falls far short of the
OWC. There is a very bright side in that the Analysis services 2005 has a
tremendous ammount of core functionality improvements. Additionally this
combined with the Visual Studio BI product is pretty impressive. (OWC is now
part of Analysis Services 2005 as a data browser) I hope that you apply your
tallents to help your BI following (Myself included) to make sense of it all.

Best Regards
Jeff

interesting, very interesting. i like what excel services has to offer in
terms of its angle towards scalability, performance yada yada yada. It does
fall short in some key areas - see my latest article in aspnet pro magazine
to be published soon.

The thing is, the major publishers don't think that another OWC/BI book is
marketable at least not on its own - i guess they have their reasons none of
which i claim to understand and that's rather disappointing. i don't have
the energy to fight another battle like I did with the black book either.
