OWC not working properly

I have a machine with XP SP2 and Office 2003 SP2. We need the OWC to display
graphs. I have installed the owc10.exe from the Microsoft web site but a
prompt keeps on popping up each time we tried to generate the graph and
requested me to install the component. I have follow the required methods to
install/uninstall/reinstall the owc component but the owc is not working
properly. How do I do clean install of the owc? Which folder/registry key
should I clear up so that I could run a clean install? Other machines running
on the same have no problems.
Pls help

OWC = Office web component. When we tried to generate the graph from another
program that uses the OWC, a messages prompts up and requested us to download
the component from the following website. As noted, we have followed the
instructions to do so, uninstall & reinstall but the component never worked.
The message that appearred was to ask us to dowload the component if we have
not done so. So, we suspect that during the initial installation, some
registry parameters must have corrupted and that's why the program did not
work. We want to know where we can find these keys and fix it.

Hi WT,

If you're runnning Office 2003 have you installed the Office 2003 (OWC11)
Web Components from the Office Shared feature choice in
Microsoft Office 2003 in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel?

Hi Bob

In fact, when OWC10 failed to respond, we removed OWC10 (via Add/Remove
Program) and installed OWC11. But it did not work either. First we suspected
that the program that uses the OWC to generate graph was not compatible with
either OWC10 and OWC11. However, it worked fine with the rest of the Office
2003 systems installed with OWC10. So, we suspect its an isolated case,
something or somewhere during the initial installation, some keys must have
gone corrupted. Basically, even when we run Add/Remove to remove the
component, the registry keys are still there. Maybe if I could Add/Remove
the OWC component, clean up the registry key with respect to the component
and reinstall the component again, I hope it should work. But the point is, I
don't know where are the keys related to the OWC. Any help will be great.
Thanks. WT

Hi W.T.,

Hmmm. You can have both the OWC10 and OWC11 sets installed, but if neither is working separately, then together may not either :)

Generally, you can search the registry for
MSOWC
to locate the keys.

You may want to also ask the folks in the OWC dev group as well (link below)
on troubleshooting the Office Web Components.
