OWC: Signed Control?

D

Hello,

We're currently exploring developing an intranet application for a
client who has high security requirements (including signed ActiveX
controls.) Does anyone know if the OWC control is actually signed by
Microsoft?

Thanks,

Dylan

Alvin,

Thanks. (We love your book, BTW). Any where we could point the client
to in order to prove they're signed? Or something we could do with the
component itself?

Yup, just install the components. It will take you thru a series of prompts
that indicate what you are installing and where it is being installed from
and whether or not the component is signed. By the way, MS signs all their
released components whether ActiveX or not. An unsigned component shouldn't
be installed on a machine. Period.
