OWC To be discontinued

interesting blog discussion. the most telling i thought was that excel
services won't run in isolation - not totally true given that the technology
is based on asp.net, but there is the sticky issue of the CAL which will
force that to be true. if you look at the big picture, the lack of OWC
support will create a vacuum to be filled by 3rd party controls. and that's
poor for end users because 3rd party controls bring their proprietory
standards making it difficult for clients to move data between apps - it
probably sets us back 5 years or so.
