OWC11 License Issue for Server Side Use Only?

I read: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828949

I am still unsure of the answer to my question and would really like an
official Microsoft answer.

I am developing an web application (VB.NET in Visual Studio 2003) - and want
to use OWC 11 for creating charts dynamically based off data out of a SQL
Server 2000.

The web application will contain "chart options" that will be chosen by the
user - then these options will be passed to the server and a JPG generated
from OWC 11 to send back ot the user. The user will view the JPG as an image
only, no interactivity.

Do I need a License for OWC11 on the server? I know I do not need one on the
clients.

If you require a microsoft answer, you are better served by opening a report
incident - I believe it costs $35 per incident (last time I checked).

By the way, licensing and its various incarnations are FULLY explained in
the black book.

I have no doubt your book would be useful - and I wouldn't mind having it -
however my company is pretty cheap and won't be springing for it anytime soon.

I just want to know if i need a server side license - I suppose if that
information is that hidden and cryptic i just wont worry about it.

Licensing requirements are fully satisfied in your case. Basically,
licensing has to do with restricting interactivity. If you don't use
interactivity, then it is just a gif file shipped to the client - for the
most part.
