OWC11 & SP1 for Office 2003

I removed Office Web Components to enable completion of SP1 install for
Office 2003

I have downloaded & installed new version of OWC11 from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...2c-402e-4f72-97a5-e0fd290d4b76&displaylang=en

Now, if I run Office 2003 SP1, I get non-specific message "version is not
what was expected".

I also get similar (but clearer) message when running the extracted msp
files
Owc11sp1ff.msp Office 2003 SP1 for Office 2003 Web Components
Owc102003sp1ff.msp Office 2003 SP1 for Office XP Web Components


Why isn't the SP1 (full-file) aware of new version of OWC11?

Jim, there will a log file named OHotfix(0000x).log (where x is a number) in
the %temp%\ohotfix folder. This text file is pretty short; so you can just
paste the contents into a reply, and I'll take a look at it.

Based on the build number, it shouldn't need to be patched (although that's
not what the log says). Can you send me the OHotfix(0000x)_Msi.log file
(where x is a number)? Please put it in a Zip file, and send it to
mailto:[email protected] (remove '.online' from the email address
before sending)?

Office 2003 SP1 fails from both download files "client" and "fulfill" off the
Microsoft site with the error message "Expected version of product not found".

I have done a reinstall of Office 2003 using "reinstall or repair" option.
It seemed to be successful as it completed with no errors.

I am reluctant to completely remove and reinstall the program as I have just
spent 2 hours with Microsoft "Help" getting a new Key as the old key was not
accepted after I changed the motherboard in my computer (1 product - 1
computer - new motherboard)

Any one have a solution? I am running Windows XP, ver 5.1, build 2600, SP2.
