There actually is an OWC12 believe it or not. You get it downloading the
latest OWC11 component (12.0.0.4518 as of last night's download). What does
it contain? Microsoft has said that this is just a recompiled dll. That's
their final word. However, what you are seeing is obviously not just a
recompiled dll.
If it helps, I too cannot get this to work in design mode with Office 2007
on the machine. Period. At this point, and until I know better, I have to
assume that the functionality is disabled. If I have time tomorrow, I'll
open a support incident to get the real word on the story and update this
thread as appropriate.
