Ownership of Tasks

P

Paul

There is a problem I have with the way Outlook 2003 is creating Tasks.
If I select a customers name, right click, and create a Task, my name is
appearing under the ownership box.
The problem that I have with this is that the logging going on under the
activities tab under my name is massive!
Trying to find personal activities under my name is a nightmare as I try and
weed through the rat's nest of activities that pertain to other people that
I have done tasks, emails, etc. for.
If I try to manually erase my name from the owner box in the Task window, it
won't let me.
Also. I would like to have the ability to assign ownership of a Task to
other people as well.
I.E. if I give an employee a Task for a customer, I would like to see the
employee's name appear at the top of the printed Memo Style Task sheet and
not mine.

Can anyone lend any help for this problem?

TIA

Paul,

Since you are the create of the task you are the owner, however you can
assign task to others and keep track of the progress on those tasks.

As for weeding out though everying a suggestion may be to create/use
categories. For instance, if you assign aka give ownership to "John Smith"
create a category called Johh Smith and add it any of the tasks that he has
ownership.

Once this is done you can then customize the views to group by Categories.
The results will the report will show/print with each category (task "Owner")
grouped togther. Hope this works at least as work around.
